Florida's Most Popular Shopping Destination: Disney Springs

Ranked number one in popularity among shopping centers nationwide, Disney Springs provides an all-around exceptional experience. This open-air center features upscale outdoor shopping, dining and entertainment in close proximity to the Walt Disney World Resorts. Disney Springs is easily accessible by boat, car, or pedestrian bridge and offers complimentary transportation to the Disney Resorts. Disney Springs is anchored by nontraditional tenants such as World of Disney and AMC 24.

The center is a highly-diversified complex with 24% of its tenants focused around experiences. It features House of Blues (a concert and live music venue) and Splitzville Luxury Lanes (an upscale spin on the traditional bowling alley featuring all ages live entertainment). Another 41% of its tenants are comprised of retail stores and 28% are restaurants. Of the approximately 76 retail shops inside the Disney Springs shopping center, a handful include recent store openings including Ron Jon Surf Shop, Disneystyle, Coach, Stance, and Kiehls.

Similar to most shopping centers, it is not uncommon for the weekends to be the busiest time of the week. The majority of visitors frequent the center during the evenings and afternoons and there is a significant increase in the number of customers Friday through Sunday in comparison to the weekdays.

One of the most beloved experiences at Disney Springs, La Nouba by Cirque Du Soleil, closed in December of 2017. Cirque enthusiasts have long awaited news about its replacement and earlier last year it was finally announced that a new Cirque Du Soleil show will debut in La Nouba's place at Disney Springs on March 20, 2020. Among the many exciting updates surrounding the new show, it has been rumored that the Disney Springs performance is being produced in collaboration with Walt Disney Imagineering. President and CEO of Cirque du Soleil Entertainment Group, Daniel Lamarre, reports that the new show will pay homage to Disney’s rich history of animation, with a vivid story told in a way that only Cirque du Soleil can deliver. However, there's no need to wait until 2020 to enjoy the magic of Disney Springs. Upcoming events this summer include a family-friendly virtual reality experience called "The Void: Step Beyond Reality" and "Vintage Amphicar & Italian Water Taxi Tours" available everyday throughout this summer.
